A boat crashed into a break wall on Lake Michigan near Highland Park late Friday, but all three passengers made it safely to shore, according to the coast guard.

About 10:50 p.m. a 23-foot pleasure craft crashed into a break wall on the Lake Michigan shoreline at the old Fort Sheridan armory near MacArthur Loop, according to Charles Wolfson, a civilian search and rescue controller with the Coast Guard.

One man made it to shore first and notified 911, Wolfson said. The other two men eventually made it to shore as well, he said. All three men were transported by Highland Park emergency personnel to the Highland Park Hospital, he said.

Wolfson did not immediately know the ages or extent of injuries of the men, but said one had facial lacerations.

The boat was pulled to the shore, he said.

Highland Park police and fire departments declined to comment.
