An autopsy performed today on the body of an unidentified woman found Friday in an abandoned South Side building revealed she was beaten to death and strangled, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
The autopsy determined her death was a homicide.
Chicago police found the woman, believed to be in her 20s or 30s, in the building in the 800 block of West Marquette Road in the Englewood neighborhood about 1 p.m. Friday, police said.
They could not provide further details of the homicide investigation, which was being conducted by Wentworth Area detectives.
