Oldest ex-Blackhawk likes team's chances at Cup

When Al Suomi watches the Blackhawk stars fly around the rink at breakneck speed, he sees flashes of his younger self out there on the ice. "Reminds me of when I was playing hockey," the 96-year-old great-grandpa said from a cushy recliner in his La Grange Highlands home. "I was a fast skater. I could skate 45 miles per hour." That was back in 1936, when a young, fit Suomi played left winger for the Hawks.
