Ever since news broke in winter that Cork & Kerry owner Billy Guide was eyeing the former Jimbo's space near U.S. Cellular Field to open a Bridgeport outpost, we've been keeping tabs on the space, waiting for some sign of progress toward opening. With the Sox sucking like a mortal chest wound, this has taken on some added urgency.

A long walk home from a Sox win a couple weeks back found this sign hanging from the former dump at 33rd and Wells. Inside is still in major construction mode; we saw no traces of the former Jimbo's bar. One can assume from this that Guide is looking to build a dark, sturdy oak bar like the original Cork & Kerry in Beverly. But it's still going to be a while before Cork & Kerry at the Park opens, allowing White Sox fans another place to second guess Ozzie Guillen's decision making.
