Man dies after being shot several times on West Side

A 33-year-old man was shot dead Monday afternoon on the West Side in Chicago's Garfield Park neighborhood.

Treon Sanders, of the 2100 block of South Spaulding  Avenue, was pronounced dead at 3:03 p.m. at Mt. Sinai Hospital, according to a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner's office.

At about 3 p.m., police responded to the 3000 block of West Fifth Avenue and found Sanders with multiple gunshot wounds, police said. He suffered gunshot wounds to his shoulder, chest and leg. Sanders was taken in serious condition to Mt. Sinai Hospital but was later pronounced dead. No one is in custody for the shooting.

Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
